- AscII-Chart is a very small memory resident utility that helps you paste
- (or input) Ascii characters (all of them: 0 to 255) directly into your
- editor, at the cursor position, and "WITHOUT" the "three-digit" number
- that you have to enter from the KeyPad with the ALT key.
-
- AscII-Chart can also be used to find and paste those extended characters
- with tildes, marks and symbols; or the characters needed to form a box
- or even a circle -and AscII-Chart finds them very quickly.
-
- AscII-Chart v8.00 also offers a "Scan Key Mode" that is very useful for
- programmers:
-
- 1. It displays the Keyboard Key status.
-
- 2. It displays the key scan codes.
-
- 3. And it displays the key character codes.
-
- This information is displayed in Decimal, Hexadecimal, Character, and
- Binary form for any key that you push..

- THE BASIC COMMAND SET

- The following keys are available after installing AscII-Chart:

- MAIN KEYS FUNCTION
- ------------------ ----------------------------------

- Control Left-Shift ..................... Pop-Up the AscII-Chart window
-
- Alt Left-Shift ......................... It duplicates the character that
- is located under the cursor.
-
- Alt Right-Shift ........................ It copies the character from the
- AscII-Chart window into your
- application, and at the cursor.
-
- Both Shif-Keys ......................... Pops-Up the AscII-Chart window,
- and then shows you the decimal,
- hexadecimal, and char values for
- the character that is located
- under the cursor.

- The following keys are available when the AscII-Chart Window is Displayed:

- MAIN KEY FUNCTION
- ---------------------------------- ----------------------------------

- Escape Key ............................. Closes the AscII-Chart window
- WITHOUT sending any characters
- to the program you are using.
-
- Return Key ............................. Closes the AscII-Chart window
- and sends the highlighted
- character to the program that
- you are using.
-
- Spacebar Key ........................... Toggle window scrolling on/off
- Press once to activate or to
- disactivate window scrolling,
- then use the cursor-keys to
- move the window or menubar.

- Tab Key ................................ Press this key to activate the
- "Scan Key Mode" then to
- exit just press ESC twice.

- Shift Key .............................. Display the Binary Notation for
- the character at the menubar

- Cursor-Up Key .......... Or ... 8 Key .......... Move menubar up
- Cursor-Down Key ........ Or ... K Key .......... Move menubar down
- End Key ................ Or ... J Key .......... Move menubar to the bottom
- Home Key ............... Or ... 7 Key .......... Move menubar to the top

- Cursor-Right Key ............................... Show next character

- PLEASE NOTE:
- ------------ When the AscII-Chart window is in the window scrolling
- position, you can scroll it with the Page-Down, Page_Up,
- Home, End, keys or with the Arrow-Keys. Try also Control
- Left-Arrow, as well as Control Right-Arrow key.

- THE FOLLOWING KEYS HELP YOU FIND

- F1 key ...... single lines
- F2 key ...... double lines
- F3 key ...... misc. lines
- F4 key ...... arrows
- F5 key ...... question marks
- F6 key ...... math symbols
- F7 key ...... all the letters similar to "A"
- F8 key ...... gral. symbols
- F9 key ...... all chars with a single quote (') on top of them
- F10 key ...... graph bars

- A key ...... all the letters similar to "A"
- B key ...... useful symbols
- C key ...... same as F9
- D key ...... graphic bars
- E key ...... all the letters similar to "E"
- F key ...... all the letters similar to "F"
- G key ...... all the letters similar to "G"
- I key ...... all the letters similar to "i"
- N key ...... all the letters similar to "N"
- O key ...... all the letters similar to "o"
- Q key ...... ornaments such as heart, life, etc.
- R key ...... all the letters similar to "R"
- U key ...... all the letters similar to "U"
- Y key ...... all the letters similar to "Y"
- ! key ...... all the esclamation point symbols
- ' key ...... all the letters with tildes
- ` key ...... all the chars with a back-single quote on them
- ~ key ...... all the chars with a tilde like "~"
- ? key ...... all the question mark symbols
- . key ...... all the chars with dots or small circles
- : key ...... all the chars with 2 dots on top of them
- > key ...... arrows
- < key ...... double lines
- = key ...... same as F3
- ^ key ...... all the chars with "^" on top of them

- 1 key ...... all the Left-Top corners for windows
- 2 key ...... all the Right-Top corners for windows
- 3 key ...... all the Left-Bottom corners for windows
- 4 key ...... all the Right-Bottom corners for windows

- To use these keys, just keep pressing the selected key until
- you find the desired item.
-
- For example let's say that you want to find the letter "N" that has
- a tilde like "~" on top of it.. So here is what you do:
-
- 1. Push the Control Left-Shift keys together to Pop-Up AscII-Chart
- 2. Push the letter "N" or "n"
- 3. Keep pressing it until you find the one that you need
-
- And thats all! Now if you want to send the character to the program that
- you are using, then just push the ENTER key. Or push the ESCAPE key to
- exit without sending any character to your program.
